Kursi Mountain in Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park, East Java Province - Indonesia

One of the mountains that reside within Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park Indonesia is called Kursi. It is located near to Semeru and Bromo Mountain. This destination is popular among young people and nature lovers who want to see the peaceful panorama of the mountain. The name Kursi means “chair”, actually. However, the shape doesn’t represent a chair at all. On the other hand, it shares a common shape just like the other mountains in that area. When it is about the location, Kursi resides beside Widodaren and Batok Mountain, so tourists are able to witness them from the Peak of Kursi Mountain clearly (as long as there is no fog).

The Nuance
In terms of height, Kursi Mountain is about 2,580 meters above the sea level. That means it is smaller than Semeru and Bromo. Near to it, Batok and Widodaren Mountain are also seen well! When it comes to the features, it has different types of landscapes including the hill, meadow, and cliffs. Animals are rarely seen there, but several birds often come to that area looking for nest materials. Sometimes, they might sing which create amazing nuance to that area.

Exploring Kursi Mountain
As mentioned before, Kursi Mountain is well-known among young people. The reason is none other than the romantic atmosphere provided by the site. The visitors want to hunt either sunrise or sunset when they have the time, as well. Despite the tiredness, they are likely to come again next time. It is a good place to create good and memorable experiences, after all. For couples, the mountain helps them build a stronger relationship and create beautiful photography collection before a wedding. Not all people love that idea, though.

Unlike Penanjakan Views, Kursi Mountain doesn’t have any facilities. That means tourists can only find lush nature and its charms even though it is considered challenging for beginners. The reason is that trekkers must know the route to reach the peak and they should prepare any equipment beforehand like a compass, bottled water, snacks, proper footwear, etc. It is also recommended to come with a local or a tour guide in order to avoid getting lost when exploring Kursi Mountain.

The best time to visit the mountain is during weekends and holidays where many tourists are seen there. As the result, the nuance becomes merrier and safer for first-timers. As for the foods, everyone should have prepared some snacks beforehand because no food vendors operate in that area. Also, don’t forget to carry a plastic bag in order to prevent littering.
